Department Introduction :
Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2009 in IES College of Technology and under- graduate course started with initial intake of 60 students. The intake was increased to 120 in 2011 due to excellent results obtained. Further impetus was given to the department in 2013 by way of introduction of post graduate courses .Department of Mechanical Engineering is working with the objective to enable the students to acquire scientific knowledge, as well as provide a basis for their personal, social and cognitive development. The department is continuously taking efforts to impart state of the art education to students.
Department possesses well equipped laboratories e.g. Strength of Materials, Fluid mechanics Hydraulics, Thermodynamics, Theory of Machine, Dynamics of Machine, Heat & Mass Transfer, Refrigeration & Air condition, Metal Cutting & CNC, CAD/ CAM, & SIM Lab etc. Department has qualified & experienced faculty for teaching & guiding the students for their project/ research work.
Students (1) Mr. Gaurav Jaiswal (2) Akash Tilwani received Chancellor’s Scholarship for being topper in University Exam in year 2015.
Vision :
The Mechanical Engineering Department endeavors to be recognized for outstanding education and research leading to competent engineers, who are innovative, entrepreneurial and successful in advanced fields of mechanical engineering to cater to fast evolving industrial demands and communal needs.
Mission :
-
To impart highest standards of education to the students to build their capacity and revamp their skills to make them globally competitive mechanical engineers.
-
To maintain the state of the art research facilities to provide collaborative environment that stimulates faculty, staff and students with opportunities to create, analyze, apply and disseminate knowledge.
-
To enter-into alliances with worldwide recognized R&D organizations, educational institutions, industry and alumni for excellence in teaching, research and consultancy practices.
-
To equip the students with the academic environment of excellence, leadership, ethical guidelines and lifelong learning required for long productive career.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) :
-
Graduates will solve engineering problems and with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals possess competency in fundamental engineering knowledge & highest studies.
-
Graduates will measure, design, and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems with good scientific approach.
-
Graduates will be responsible, professionally and ethically sound in transmission skills, teamwork skills, interdisciplinary approach, and will relate engineering issues to broader communal context.
-
Graduates will be aware of excellence in academic environment, leadership, written ethical codes and guidelines, and the life-long learning needed for a successful professional career.
-
Graduates will be prepared for successful careers in industry, research and institutions of higher learning, as well as practicing in a broad range of industries.
